As I begin to write part two, as coincidence (something I don’t believe in), or more to the point, fate would have it, a young twenty something year old wandered into my office and introduced himself. He said he but a minute of time until his public transportation arrived to whisk him off but wanted to inquire about “getting into real estate”. He said he was studying Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. I could not imagine a more perfect moment. It was like I was staring at a mirror of time and I had come full circle. My purpose complete. (BTW, a very professional young man)

We left off at the stunning revelations Felix Dennis had imparted to me in his book “How to Get Rich”. This revelation naturally took me back 15 years to my university days at Wilfrid Laurier. A short shout out to my old Alma Mater, another turning point in the road, I am forever grateful for the opportunities they provided. You changed my life and you will always be home to me; Hawks Fovever Now, as I said when I was attending it was never my intention to work for the “Man” post-graduation. But life creeps in and sometimes you find yourself on the wrong road, for a very long long time. Felix’s book enlightened and awakened in me the road I had forgotten. Further, he articulated a clear path to follow; the first stone on the path to Oz. It demonstrated what it took to be successful as an Entrepreneur and was extremely clear about why people fail. It was MY roadmap. And I intended to follow it.

Real Estate had entered my radar quite a number of years previously for various reasons. We had found (my wife and I ) that we both had a taste for it. We loved it in fact . Of all the businesses and all the gin joints and in all the world, it seemed that we had found the right steps. But, Oh my, where would we find the money, and how could I ever forgive myself if I failed? After all I would be spending “our money” not my money….that we did not have to begin with. I had one backer, one investor, and about 100 million naysayers. Deep Breath, time to jump…….
